Finite Element Modeling of Reinforced Concrete Stepped Beams
Authors
Abstract
This paper presents an investigation to study the behavior of stepped reinforced concrete beams under static load. An analytical study is carried out to verify experimental study for two stepped reinforced concrete beams and one straight reinforced concrete beam. Analytical study is performed using the ANSYS finite element program to predict the ultimate load capacity, Crack pattern, Load-deflection Curves, The deformed shapes and stress for reinforcement bars. Nonlinear material behavior, as it relates to steel reinforcing bar and concrete are simulated appropriate constitutive models. The analytical results show good agreement with the experimental results.
